The 1971–72 season was the 2nd season of Paris Saint-Germain FC.[1] PSG played most of their home league matches at the Stade Bauer, but also occasionally at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir, with an average attendance of 10,030 spectators per match.[1][2] The club's president was Guy Crescent until December 1971, when Henri Patrelle replaced him. The team's manager was Pierre Phelipon.[1] Jean Djorkaeff was the team captain.[3] PSG finished 16th in Division 1, were administratively relegated to Division 3 following their split from Paris FC at the end of the season, and reached the round of 64 of the Coupe de France. Jean-Claude Bras and Michel Prost were the club's top scorers this season with 12 goals each, all in the league.[1]
