Al-Fateh Stadium (Arabic: ملعب نادي الفتح, romanized: maleab nady al-fath) is a football stadium located in Al-Mubarraz, in the Al-Ahsa Governorate, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia.
History
The original Al-Fateh Stadium opened in 2004 with a capacity of 3,500 and included an athletics track. In June 2021, the Ministry of Sport announced a redevelopment plan to transform the stadium into a football-specific venue.[1] The redevelopment project began in September 2021, and the stadium was officially completed and opened on 16 November 2023 with a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification match between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.[2] The first league match in the newly renovated stadium took place on 25 November 2023.[3]
Design and features
The redeveloped Al-Fateh Stadium features a rectangular, football-specific layout with single-tier stands on all sides.
- The main stand, located on the west side, is positioned a considerable distance from the pitch and is separated from the other stands.
- All stands are fitted with plastic seats arranged in a mosaic pattern reflecting the club’s colors: green, white, and blue.
- A uniform white membrane roof extends over all stands, though it does not cover the lower rows.
- Four floodlight masts are positioned behind the corners of the stadium.
- A video screen has been installed in one of the unbuilt corners.
- Surrounding the stadium are club buildings, training pitches, and parking facilities.
