Andy Derek Gardiner (born November 29, 1967) is a retired British professional basketball player.
Playing career
Gardiner played for the Bracknell Pirates and Bracknell Tigers[1] before enrolling at Hawaii Loa College,[2] which merged with the Hawaii Pacific University during his college career.[3]
While playing for the London Towers, Gardiner gained additional international experience, participating in the 1995–96 Korać-Cup.[4]
Gardiner played in Belgium from 1996 to 2003.[1] In 2002-03, he competed in the FIBA Europe Champions Cup with Euphony Liège.[4] In 2003, he joined the Brighton Bears, coached by Nick Nurse.[5] Gardiner won 26 caps for the English men's basketball national team.[6]
Gardiner's daughter Timea followed in the footsteps of her father, embarking on a basketball career.[7]
