Edgar Clinton Hawley[1] (February 20, 1850 – May 13, 1929) was an American merchant and politician who served four terms in the Illinois House of Representatives for the 14th district from 1889 to 1897,[2] and as Republican minority leader from 1893 to 1895.[3] He was a member of the "Big Four," a group of Illinois legislators known for their corporate ties.[4]
