It is native to mountainous regions of France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy (Valle d'Aosta, Lombardia, Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna, Toscana).[2][3]
