Gnathocharax steindachneri, also known as the arowana tetra,[3] is a species of characin fish found in tropical freshwater habitats in the Orinoco and Amazon Basins of South America. It is also found as an aquarium fish.[4] It is the sole member of its genus.[5] It reaches up to 5 cm (2.0 in) in length.[4]
