Hartoft is a hamlet in the county of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 7 miles (11 km) north-northwest from Pickering.[1] The nearest village, Rosedale Abbey, is situated 1.8 miles (3 km) away.[2]
It was part of the Ryedale district between 1974 and 2023. It is now administered by North Yorkshire Council.

It is again met with in "Hartoft Vale," about two miles to the south-east of Rosedale Abbey, where i* has been lately opened out, and although there is a great thickness of it there also, only about three feet of it appears to be of average quality.
