Demographics
According to the 2011 census of India, Kandi CD block had a total population of 81,521, all of which were rural. Kandi had a sex ratio of 916 females per 1000 males and a literacy rate of 67.4%. Population in the age range 0–6 years was 13,031. Scheduled Castes numbered 25,060 (30.74%) and Scheduled Tribes numbered 187 (0.23%).[1]
Language and religion
Hindus are the majority community in the block.[2]
The majority language spoken in this block is Hindi and a dialect of Magahi.[3]

• Shree Raghunath Jee Fuels ( Bharat Petroleum ) : It's situated at the centre of the administrative block alongside the main road of Kandi and is the nearest petrol pump service to the Main Bazaar.
• Resham Laxmi Petroleum ( Indian Oil ) : This petrol pump has also a good service.
