Majdany Wielkie (Polish pronunciation: [majˈdanɨ ˈvjɛlkʲɛ]) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Miłomłyn, within Ostróda County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 5 km (3 mi) north-west of Miłomłyn, 17 km (11 mi) north-west of Ostróda, and 48 km (30 mi) west of the regional capital Olsztyn.
History
The suffix -hagen of the historic village name is typical for settlements founded by Germans during Medieval Ostsiedlung.[2]
