Evergreen is an unincorporated community in Restigouche County, New Brunswick, Canada.[1]
History
William Francis Ganong identified the Mi'kmaq name for Evergreen as Peedamkee'jos.[2]
The community was renamed Evergreen in January 2024, as the name previously attributed to the community contained a racial slur. The nearby mountain of the same name was returned to the traditional Mi'kmaq name of Meto'mqwijuig Mountain.[3]
