Boleszewo [bɔlɛˈʂɛvɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Sławno, within Sławno County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 7 km (4 mi) west of Sławno and 169 km (105 mi) north-east of the regional capital Szczecin.
History
The suffix -hagen of the historic village name is typical for settlements founded by Germans during Medieval Ostsiedlung.[2] Before 1648 the area was part of Duchy of Pomerania, 1648–1945 Prussia and Germany. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania.
